IN Tahrir Square, Cairo, supporters of President Hosni Mubarak, clashed violently with protestors looking for regime change. Can the sudden eruption of violent pro-Mubarak rioters be linked to the fact that for days we have been hearing that the police have disappeared from Cairo’s streets? Have the police re-emerged, albeit out of uniform?
