Jamie Theakston Made New BBC Chair Champion At MediaCity?
HAS the BBC really employed a “chair champion” to “help staff moving to Salford Quays choose their seats – and learn to sit on them”.
BBC staffers are mocking into the godforsaken MediaCity in Salford Quay. Each is presented with a choice of three chairs.
A BBC spokeswoman confirmed the ‘chair champion’ was on site. But she stressed that looking after the corporation’s seating needs was only part of his wider health-and-safety role.
So. Someone is making sure everyone gets a chair and know how it goes up and down and supports you back properly.
The real story is that someone in this world has a job title “Chair Champion”. All things need a champion, lest they be forgotten and no longer used. Without a Chair Champion, would chairs have much of a future? Would virtual chairs rule? Would bean bags become the go-ahead way to sit, or would the Floor Champion get thereon show on Channel 4 and win the day.
Anorak is open to new ideas. We suggest that the BBC hire Jamie Theakston to present 100 Best Ways To Sit Down and thereby tell us what is the No.1 method and put the debate to bed…
