NIKITA Shanina, 45, told the 10-year-old patient that she was a locum dentist. With the child rested back in the chair at the surgery in Tula, Russia, Shanina pulled a tooth – a healthy one. With no pain relief. With pliers.
Shanina is not a dentist. She is a cleaner who picked up the white coat and acted out a fantasy.
On a more positive note, chances are high that the child will now take to brushing her teeth and gums avidly to prevent tooth decay and any need to see the dentist ever again…
