Time For Casey Anthony To Cash In On Her Celebrity
JUDGE Belvin Perry has sentenced Casey Anthony to four years for lying to investigators – one year for each of the four counts of lying to detectives trying to find her daughter in July 2008. But she can go free in late July or early August because she has already served nearly three years in jail and has had good behaviour. Anthony has been acquitted of killing and abusing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Casey can then sell her story. There can be a film. A range of T-shirts. Hawkers were selling them outside the Orlando courthouse.
In the US, free speech is enshrined in the First Amendment. The Son of Sam Laws hold little water.
The one thing that will come out of it – aside from a celebrity for mummy dearest – is a call for Caylee’s Law. This will be a crime to wait to report a child’s disappearance or death.
But Laws are only any good if the people working to uphold them are up to the tasks. The police pursued Casey Anthony for first degree murder. They did not have a strong enough case and could not present compelling evince of guilt. They failed.
Now it’s time for the media to help Casey get on with her life by giving her loads money…
