Mansfield’s New Boss Carolyn Still ‘Worked As An Escort’: John Terry And Wayne Rooney Sign For Notts Club?
THE chief executive of Mansfield FC, one Carolyn Still, 29, used to be an escort, allegedly. The Sun says she “enjoyed steamy dates with scores of male punters“.
Anorak appreciates the use of the word “enjoyed“; it plays into the image that escorts love all their clients. (See adverts in The Sun.)

She was made chief executive of the Nottinghamshire club last week after striking up a friendship with club chairman John Radford, 45, who offered her a job.
Adding:
The pair deny their close relationship had any impact on her appointment to the Blue Square Bet Premier club, nicknamed The Stags.
Readers might detect a whiff of suggestion in the words “close relationship”.
Language is not chosen by accident. So, having linked Still’s enjoyable past with her present job, Wells adds:
Carolyn, believed to be originally from Lancashire, is thought to have been first lured into escorting as a politics student almost ten years ago.
She was lured into something she enjoyed?
And then what of her credentials for getting the job at Macclesfield?
The money she earned is believed to have gone to pay off debts and she later headed to London to work as an account manager for top fashion labels Bulgari and Gucci.
In short: talented, attractive women with drive and ambition gets job. The Sun omits to mention that Still is a politics graduate from the University of Durham.
Later she moved back to Leeds — where she had worked previously — and held a job with crisp makers Seabrook’s before returning to escorting in 2009.
Last night the shocked soccer executive did not deny our story when we put it to her.
Shocked. Not least because Mansfield rarely feature in the tabloids. She’s putting the place on the map. Shocked because of those rumours that John Terry and Wayne Rooney have put in transfer requests at Chelsea and Manchester United to play for Mansfield?
Instead she told The Sun: “I haven’t had a hunky-dory life at all. I don’t even know what to say. For me, it’s just very overwhelming.”
But the best quote comes from Carolyn:
Speaking last week about her new role, she said: “I intend to add vibrancy and fresh ideas to our approach off the field. I want to wake sleeping fans.”
There is nothing to suggest that Still ever slept with anyone for money. But the Sun feels a need to add:
Repeated rumours suggest the pair [Radford] are an item, a claim which Carolyn has so far failed to deny.
So what if they are..?
