Daily Mail Turns Joanna Yeates Into An Anti-Porn Cause: Vincent Tabak’s Video Nasties

CAN the tabloids turn Joanna Yeates into a cause? The Daily Mail is having a go. Following news that Vincent Tabak, Miss Yeates’ murderer, has watched pornography and not murdered a prostitute in Los Angeles, the paper makes 2 plus 2 equal whatever it wants to. The front-page headline announces:

News is that the CoE will look at its investments and remove cash from any funds that back Internet Service Providers that allow users to access porn.

But what has that got to do with Joanna Yeates? Nothing. The Mail is just doing its bit to take ownership of the murdered women. The Daily Star and Daily Mirror renamed her ““Joanne“; the Sun branded her on its “Jo” posters, making a show of helping the police, who were already focused on Tabak; and now the Mail appropriates her for an anti-sleaze crusade.
