Herman Cain: Sharon Bialek Republican Is The Dream Kennedy-Bush-Clinton-Obama-Tiger Woods Interracial Sex Pest (Allegedly)

by | 7th, November 2011

HERMAN Cain might be the Republican Party’s Presidential candidate. Right now he looks like the Right’s dream blend of Obama’s skin tones, Bill Clinton’s love of skin and George Dubya Bush’s view of the world. Sharon Bialek has accused Cain of sexual harassment more than a decade ago. She says Cain behaved inappropriately while he was CEO of the National Restaurant Association. She’s hired Gloria Allred as her rep. That’s the same woman who gunned for Tiger Woods.

The Views:

Rod Dreher:

Cain can yak all he wants about how he’s not going to talk about this stuff anymore, but that’s all anybody is going to talk about until and unless he firmly and convincingly rebuts this stuff. This drip-drip-drip is going to kill his campaign. I’d say it’s probably dead anyway.

Andrew Klavan:

In 1998, when Newsweek reporter Michael Isikoff got the full details of President Bill Clinton’s adulterous affair with a 21-year-old intern, the magazine killed the story, leaving the nascent new media, in the person of The Drudge Report, to bring it to light. In 2007, when John Edwards was still a viable Democratic presidential candidate, the National Enquirer broke the news of his illicit affair and illegitimate child, but the mainstream media actually covered it up, with one CNN journalist explaining it was “unimportant.”

And yet when the left wing news website Politico recently published anonymous allegations about 10-year-old sexual harassment complaints against Cain, the mainstream media lit up like a Christmas tree…

And what if a drunken Republican senator had accidentally dropped a car containing his adultery mate into the water? What if he had sauntered back to his hotel to clean up while the poor woman desperately pounded on the car window until she drowned horribly? Would conservatives have re-elected that man? Would they have declared that man “The Lion of the Senate?” The very idea makes one ill. Conservatives would have demanded his arrest and trial with a single voice.

Dan Amira:

Bialek’s emergence seems like a very bad development for Cain in three ways: First, it marks the first time that Cain has been accused of something specific. Secondly, the charges are far worse than an off-color joke — in fact, what Cain is accused of doing sounds more like sexual assault, not sexual harassment. And third, as Ben Smith pointed out earlier today, the press conference provides the scandal’s first TV footage that can be replayed endlessly on cable and network news. Any Republican voters open to believing the charges against Cain will now have plenty of lurid details to mull over for at least the next few days.

Newsweek‘s Washington Bureau chief Howard Kurtz (via):

“The sight of Cain’s latest accuser, whose flowing blonde hair dipped over one eye…gives it an interracial aspect.”

Rush Limbaugh:

The Accusation – Business Insider:

She says Cain hooked her up with a “palatial suite” in Washington, D.C. Cain told her later that he had arranged for the “upgrade.”

Bialek says Cain took her to the NRA offices — she thought they were going inside, but Cain reached under her skirt to grab her genitals and tried to force her head down to his crotch. She says she said: “What are you doing? That’s not what I came here for.” To which she alleges Cain responded “You want a job don’t you?”

Bialek says she didn’t file a complaint because she didn’t work for the NRA.

“I am coming forward to give a face and a voice to those women who, for whatever reason, cannot come forward.”

Bialek concludes: “Mr. Cain, I implore you, make this right so that you and the country can move forward.”

Cain campaign’s J.D. Gordon:

“Just as the country finally begins to refocus on our crippling $15 trillion national debt and the unacceptably high unemployment rate, now activist celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is bringing forth more false accusations against the character of Republican front-runner Herman Cain.

“All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone. Fortunately the American people will not allow Mr. Cain’s bold “9-9-9 Plan”, clear foreign policy vision and plans for energy independence to be overshadowed by these bogus attacks.”

Cain’s Statement:

“Activist celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is bringing forth more false accusations against the character of Republican front-runner Herman Cain. All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone. Fortunately the American people will not allow Mr. Cain’s bold ’9-9-9 Plan’, clear foreign policy vision and plans for energy independence to be overshadowed by these bogus attacks.”

Joel P Bennett:

In an interview after Ms. Bialek’s news conference, Joel P. Bennett, a lawyer for one of Mr. Cain’s anonymous accusers, said that Ms. Bialek’s claims were “very similar” in nature to the incident that occurred between his client and Mr. Cain.

His client has not said whether Mr. Cain touched her physically. In a statement Friday on her behalf, Mr. Bennett alleged that Mr. Cain had engaged in a “series of inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances” toward his client.

“It corroborates the claim,” Mr. Bennett said of Ms. Bialek’s allegation. Asked whether that meant that Mr. Cain had physically touched his client inappropriately, Mr. Bennett said “I can’t get more specific” but added that “I can say it is corroborating.”

Mr. Bennett also said that a woman named Sharon from Chicago left a message on his answering machine over the weekend saying that she, too, had been the subject of harassment at the hands of Mr. Cain. Mr. Bennett said he called her back to suggest that he could arrange for her to come forward confidentially, but that she said that she would think about it.

After watching the news conference, Mr. Bennett said: “I guess she got over her shyness.”

As for Cain… Well, can his campaign survive?
