Nadine Coyle Doesn’t Like The Rest Of Girls Aloud, Which Is A Huge Surprise
FACE IT, Girls Aloud were one of the most fun pop bands to have around, releasing a whole bunch of killer singles that managed to straddle the teeny-boppers and the adult pop enthusiast. Of course, with success came trouble and they all went their separate ways piddling around with solo projects and egos.
While Cheryl briefly became the nation’s sweetheart and Nicola, Kimberley and Sarah were just plain likeable while they waited for the Girls Aloud reunion, Nadine Coyle went a bit mad. She waltzed off to America, opened a restaurant, flopped a solo LP and became increasing distanced from her band mates.
And now, she’s back and opening her mouth and really making a hash of her image by saying that she doesn’t actually like her bandmates and sees them purely as colleagues.
Coyle said to Heat:
“They’re not my friends. I don’t speak to them or socialise with them. I have my own friends that I’ve grown up with and the girls are very much my colleagues. Are you friends with your workmates? I wouldn’t socialise with them outside of work.”
Great PR, eh? While her honesty is almost admirable, she’s not exactly making everyone warm to her which is a shame because Coyle clearly sees herself as ‘the talent’ in the group, when really, GA could easily survive without her.
An insider added:
“Nadine and Cheryl have never been close and they’re not about to start now. Cheryl has always hated the fact that Nadine has a better voice than her and was always given lead vocals… Nadine is shocked at how well Cheryl has done given her ‘lack of talent’.”
They added:
“Now she’s said openly to her friends that the band need her for the reunion because she carries a lot of the songs. For Nadine, it seems to be more about the money than doing it for the girls. She will make a fortune from a reunion tour and she knows it.
“Kimberley has been the most desperate to do it and Cheryl would never let her down. Cheryl has said, ‘I don’t have a choice if Kim and Nic are involved! I can’t let my girls down’.”
So it appears that a reunion is on the cards, which is great. But will Nadine be part of it?
