Britain's David Bedford sets a new world record time of 27 minutes, 31 seconds for the 10,000 metres race at Crystal Palace. Bedford's record time chopped 7.4 seconds off the previous best time set by Finland's Lasse Viren at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.
