No. This conspiracy was to hack Strauss-Kahn’s mobile phone.
The former head of the International Monetary Fund is said to suspect his BlackBerry was hacked.
The New York Review of Books alleges that on the very day of his arrest for that alleged rape a researcher working for Nicolas Sarkozy’s UMP party had seen a private email Strauss-Kahn had sent to his wife. The story makes other claims about the hotel’s security staff and alleged delays in informing the New York police.
Strauss-Kahn faces a civil case.
