Prince Philip: other women get ready to sing

by | 26th, December 2011

GEORGE Michael will “NEVER SING AGAIN,” says the Daily Star’s front-page headline. But Prince Philip and his backing girls might.

It’s Celebrity Death Watch, the tabloid show starring George Michael – singer, formerly of double act Wham! – is taking on Prince Philip – one half of Britain’s most showbiz duo.

Before Christmas the papersd led with the two men, both ill. Now the front pages tell us:

“Queen’s Brave Face For Philip” – Daily Express leads with a photos of Queen Elizabeth a smiling at a Christmas Church service.

“Alone for First Time in 55 Years” – Daily Mirror leads with glum looking Queen at foresaid service.

“Philip: Just Let Me Go Home!” – Daily Mail

Her reign has always been a team effort. All her strength is built on Philip’s enduring love

The Mail is in the Haze Zone, the part leading to an obituary, in which the Prince, who is patron of the British Heart Foundation, is spoken about in Mills & Boon language.

The tabloids will pause and then gun for Philip. Names to look out for:

Gunther Focke – who claims he is Philip’s son by a dalliance with one Marie-Karoline. He says of Charles, Prince of Wales:

“I have the same ears as him. I don’t think anyone could doubt my claims once they see these photos.”

Pat Kirkwood – the London West End’s biggest and highest-paid star in the 1940s, who is alleged to have formed a “close working relationship” with Philip.

Michael Fagan – when he broke into Buckingham Palace in 1982, he made it to the Queen’s bedroom, where she slept alone

Vicountess Bangor, aka Mrs Sarah Bradford, writer of Elizabeth: A Biography of Her Majesty the Queen:

“There is no doubt in my mind at all. The Duke of Edinburgh has had affairs – yes, full-blown affairs and more than one. Not with Pat Kirkwood or Merle Oberon or any of those people. You’re quite right, all that was nonsense, complete nonsense. I don’t think there was ever anything in any of that. But he has affairs. And the Queen accepts it. I think she thinks that’s how men are. He’s never been one for chasing actresses. His interest is quite different. The women he goes for are always younger than him, usually beautiful and highly aristocratic.”

That all to come.

Of course, the Star’s headline that George Michael won’t sing again is balderdash. It’s based on what unnamed doctors “fear”.

If you want to hear singing, just wait until Prince Philip dies and cock your ears to the Abbey and the tabloids…
