Rosie O’Donnell is some kind of hissy monster and gets fired from talkshow
WE all know that people in showbusiness can be fantastically unhinged. Detached from reality, they throw enormous tantrums when the nigh-on impossible isn’t delivered to them on a daily basis. And so, step forward Rosie O’Donnell who, it seems, is a gasping monster who just about upset everyone who dared step onto her radar.
Rosie’s chatshow has been cancelled from Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, thereby giving all her underlings the chance to tell us all how despairingly awful she is.
One staffer, in what may be the quote of the week referred to the show thusly: “It was such a f**king hellhole.”
Why? Well, it seems our Rosie indulged in frequent clashes with The Rosie Show staff. During the recording of a show last year, “O’Donnell uncontrollably yelled at a publicist backstage because she didn’t like the parameters agreed upon for an interview.”
Several crew members got pretty upset “when O’Donnell clashed with Oprah Winfrey’s longtime director Joe Terry. People thought she humiliated him when she scolded him in front of a live audience for using the wrong camera shots.” She “suggested he didn’t know what he was doing. She fired Winfrey’s stage manager because she felt he was ignoring her and not doing his job properly.”
Nice. She also didn’t like her band leader, Katreese Barnes, a two-time Emmy winner from SNL. The reason she didn’t like the fact they couldn’t play obscure Broadway songs off the cuff.
And, to add insult to injury, when the show’s cancellation was publicly announced, Rosie couldn’t be bothered to go to Chicago to personally break the news to her crew, instead, preferring to tweet about what a wonderful time she was having in New York.
Still, in Rosie’s defence, she did create a very peculiar piece of television when she indulged in a drum-battle with Chaka Khan. Yes. You read that correctly. A monster she may be, but she sure can create a bizarre clip for us all to gawp at.
