Keith Moon to play at London Olympics show
THE burghers of the London 2012 Olympics have invited The Who’s Keith Moon to perform at the event’s big music concert. Moon was a keen fencing fan and, as table-tennis enthusiasts know, his butterfly grip of the drumsticks was a nod to their sport.
Sadly, Moon died in 1978 following an experiment with performance-enhancing drugs. And Tupac – the hardest working corpse in pop! – has pre-booked to play the summer’s music festivals.
Says Moon’s former manger Bill Curbishley:
“I emailed back saying Keith now resides in Golders Green crematorium, having lived up to the Who’s anthemic line ‘I hope I die before I get old’. If they have a round table, some glasses and candles, we might contact him.”
It starts with a round table, some candles and glasses and it ends with silver dishes of red M&Ms, flying unicorns riding gingerbread wasps and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad singing All You Need Is Love in a bath supported on the shoudlers of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
The London Olympics organisers have wasted enough money. If any more is to be spent on getting the Moon to rise in the day, hire Derek Acorah and a Fisher Price drum kit. Enough is enough!
