1997: When Roy Hodgson was Glenn Hoddle’s interpreter

 DON’T panic, England! Roy Hodgson is just like Jose Mourinho. Back in October 1997, Glenn Hoddle was England manager and England were gearing up for a crunch World Cup Qualifier in Italy. At the England Press Conference Roy Hodgson was acting as Hoddle’s interpreter. Famously, Mourinho was former England manager Bobby Robson’s interpreter in Barcelona.

He went on to bigger and better thing, though, sadly, not the England job. Still, Roy can be the new special one, or as he would put it, the “Spweshull Won”…

In a dramatic move, the Ewood Park club announced that Hodgson was leaving by mutual consent.
