Tim Janus is the World Burping Champion – tips and video
TIM Janus has won the inaugural World Burping Championships. His path to burping gold was littered with big plastic bottles of Mountain Dew, Diet Coke but, oddly, no kebab from Al Baba’s place on the Edgware Road chased down by a extra portion of pickled chilis and lager.
Janus has tips for aspiring burpologists:
“I was just trying to condense all the air in my stomach and bring it to the surface. You just have to force every last bit of air up. It’s beautiful, really.”
And Jacques Cousteau agrees.
Sebastian Rothschild, executive director of the World Burping Federation, explain that burping is not just giggle in the bowels of New Yorks’s Hudson Station, but a drive for a greater emancipation:
“The goal of the WBF, based in Geneva, is to restore burping to a place of respectability in Western culture, and to remove the stigma that has attached itself to this practice during the past millennium.”
Aim for the stars, Seb. Aim for the stars…
