Catholic school for Suri Cruise, because they’re not every bit as distressing as Scientology
THE split between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has largely focused on the spiritual wellbeing of Suri, their daughter. Most mutterings have said that Katie didn’t want Suri going through the various hoops that Scientology has in place to find out more about their subjects.
And so, apparently, Holmes has enrolled her daughter into a Catholic school, because that’s obviously a much better idea isn’t it? Especially given that the school in question is the Convent Of The Sacred Heart in New York, which produced the well balanced pair of Nicky Hilton and Lady GaGa.
So, from one church that has been accused of spying on detractors, forcing people to do lie-detector tests and believing in aliens, to another religion which has been dogged with child-abuse scandals, largely believed to be hoarding Nazi gold, culpable in the spread of AIDS in Africa and the source of so much guilt induced misery that you’d think that Ireland is a country that laughs because, if it didn’t, it would cry.
Yeah. Brilliant work there. How about this for an idea, parents of the world: Let your child grow up and decide for themselves instead of getting them to superstitiously count Rosary beads every time they think about whacking off. How about letting your child make a whole series of mistakes without thinking that they’ll get struck down by a false god? How about not cutting bits of their genitals off when they’re born?
Gah. Religion. It’s a minefield for adults, let alone children. Spare them the headache.
In other news, Holmes’ lawyer – Jonathan Wolfe – said in a statement, that the divorce has gone through: “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”
