Adrian and Gillian Bayford win £148m on the Lottery – Nigeria celebrates
ADRIAN Bayford, 41, and his wife Gillian, 40, of Haverhill in Suffolk , won £148m on the EuroMillions lottery.
Mrs Bayford tells media (and if she want to buy some, she can take her pick of titles):
“I looked up and he [Adrian] was a bit pale.. I checked the numbers on my iPhone, the TV and the internet. We just looked at each other and giggled.”
She works as a healthcare assistant in a children’s hospital. Mr Bayford co-owns a music shop.
She says she won’t be buying Gucci (the shop?). He says he wants a “chunky car”. They might spend the lot on scratchcards.
And we have some great news fresh in from Mr Sunday Robnflee of Lagos, Nigeria, who says that with that amount of money the Bayfords can easily treble it by entering the Nigerian National Lottery.
UPDATE: News just in: They won! All the Bayfords need do is sent their bank account detail to the usual address. And wait.
Note: Why is their big cheque the same size as those handed out to winners of a few hundred grand or a couple of million? It’s just not on. A prize that big demands a massive cheque with its own postcode. The Bayfords must be disappointed.
