This year's theme, 'Set All Free,' commemorates the 200 years since Britain's abolition of the slave trade. More than 1 million people were expected Monday at the carnival, a loud, proud and raucous celebration of Caribbean culture, organizers said. The annual event, which features processions of brightly dressed calypso dancers and musicians shaking and stomping their way through the streets of west London to sound of blaring music, is billed as the largest street festival outside of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil .
