IN Photos: North Korea National Day 2012. It was great. There were the synchronised dancing and bowing, the coloured cards the stadium crowd flips over and over so that they look like a bit like homemade computer tablets (see London Olympics). It’s Pyongyang 2012. It’s one nation under the flag of half a nation:
North Koreans bow in front of bronze statues of the late leaders Kim Il Sung, left, and Kim Jong Il at the Mansu Hill area of Pyongyang
North Koreans flip colored cards to form giant portraits during an Arirang mass games performance in Pyongyang, North Korea
