Butcher stored raw meat under Y-fronts
TO Bristol, where Kamran Ajaib has been brought to book. Mr Ajaib prepared 20 tonnes of meat for human consumption from the unlicensed Hamza Poultry Limited in Maggs Lane, Fishponds.
His meat was sold at takeaway places in Bristol, Swindon, Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.
At Bristol Crown Court yesterday, Mr Ajaib pleaded guilty to 16 charges of failing to comply with food hygiene regulations.
Evidence presented at court included a pair of Y-fronts draped over a box of meat. Mr Ajaib told the court that the Y-fronts were clean. He said pairs of Y-fronts had been used as cleaning cloths, bought fresh from a local business which had excess stock.
