The Hobbit trailer is here! Sadsacks rejoice!
THE Lord of the Rings trilogy were a lousy bunch of films that were akin to Star Wars, episodes 1-3: The MTV Unplugged version. Bad CGI, too much clunky dialogue and politics and, worst of all, roughly 80 years too long. Still, they were furiously successful and spawned fans so ardent that I’m probably going to be killed in my sleep for not liking them.
Meanwhile, back in Middle-earth, Warner Bros. has released a brand-new trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (surely it’s a pretty ‘expected’ journey involving that pissing ring?) where we see Martin Freeman with his Bilbo wig and hairy toes and someone called Thorin Oakenshield larking about all gloomily.
“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is set for release on December 14th while “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” arrives around a year later. Then, everyone will be put out of their misery and complaining on twitter in 2014 when “The Hobbit: There And Back Again” closes the book on the whole thing.
