MEGAN Stammers and Jeremy Forrest are in Paris. Maybe. He’s been arrested in France.

Before the facts, a few views:

In the Sunderland Echo, an expert writes:

“I FELT sick to my stomach that she could have been groomed for so long. Seven months is a long time. You would think schools would be on top of things like this.”

The Mirror hears from Rachel Russell, who when 15 ran off with her science teacher, Mick Edson, then 31.

“Don’t get me wrong, I did play my part in it too – I knew what I was doing. But I do believe he was wrong to abuse his position and shouldn’t have done it.”

The Star hears from Katherine Baillie, who at 15 ran off with her maths teacher, Paul Tramontini, then 32, of Portsmouth, Hants.

Although Katherine, now 27, says they did not have sex until she turned 16, she admitted that the mental scars were still very raw…“I was a troubled soul. At that age I was very much in love with the idea of being in love. It wasn’t a healthy relationship and it was extremely hard to pick up the pieces afterwards.”

Jan Moir opines:

After all, it is not a relationship; it is the abduction of a child by a scheming adult who can manipulate and control her — only Megan, with her friable sheen of teen sophistication, cannot see it that way.

The Sun leads with an update on the search for Megan Stammers.

In “I SAW MEGAN IN PARIS”, we hear from Brigitte Ripley, 73, who “recognised a top the 15-year-old was wearing while strolling hand-in-hand with teacher Jeremy Forrest on the Champs-Elysees last Sunday”.

She says:

“I’m as sure as I can be that it was Megan, she seemed fine.”

If you thought the age gap between Megan, 15, and Forrest, 30, was worrisome, Brigitte gives Megan food for thought:

Brigitte was drawn to the youngster’s distinctive birdpatterned top as she owns one with a similar design.

One of these two women is not dressing their age. Columns will be written.

In other news, eyes down:

TO mark the beginning of a second week in the search for missing schoolgirl Megan Stammers, the Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, has requested a special prayer space be created in Chichester Cathedral.

And what of Forrest, aka would-be popstar Jeremy Ayre? Well, he likes to sing. His oeuvre includes: The Things We Do, Let The Wrong One In, Home, Where Have You Gone (hear it below)All My Friends Are Astronauts and Starsigns.

If you want to catch Jeremy Forrest, keep your eyes on the buskers…

Update: he’s been arrested.
