8 Bournemouth police drag splashing victim from swimming pool
TO Bournemouth’s Littledown Centre, where eight police officers are responding with extreme haste to reports of splashing incident.
A male, middle-aged swimmer claims youths have splashed him. The man is shouting at the alleged splashers. Police arrive. Eight of them. This is, in their words, a potentially “high-risk” situation. It calls for “dynamic” action. Two officers jump fully clothed into the water. (They did not shower off first, as the rules demand.) One officer carries a float.
The man is apprehended and dragged to the poolside. After an interview, polie decide that “no offence had been committed”. Oh no? Fully-dressed middle-aged adults in the same pool as youths and minors…
Call the cops!
