Philippines mayor offers reward to anyone who can decapitate suspected car thief
YOU want them to be tough on crime? You can’t handle it. To Davao, Philippines, where Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte wants Ryan Yu arrested. Killed. Decapitated. His head delivered on ice.
“Make your choice. Either you want to earn 2 million, or you want to earn 4 million, or if you want to be morbid about it – bring the head of Ryan Yu to me and I will add 1 million,” he said.
Duterte has produced a reward menu:
$48,500 – arrest Ryan Yu
$97,000 – kill Ryan Yu
$24,000 – decapitate Ryan Yu
The Mayor, Duerte’s daughter, is ok with the summary justice.
It’s the kind of story that makes us wonder if Mr Duerte protests too much. Does Yu know something about him?
Duerte is standing for Mayor. His daughter is stepping aside. His son, Paolo Duerte, is running as his Vice Mayor. Duterte claims Yu accused Paolo of smuggling cars.
Murky stuff, indeed…
