Kate Middleton Pregnant Watch: Duchess gives birth to 5-ft 10-inch Commoner
KATE Middleton Pregnancy Watch: Anorak’s look at the Duchess of Cambridge in the news. Day 3:
Daily Telegraph: “Duchess of Cambridge ‘will give birth to a girl’ who will grow to 5ft 10ins, studies suggest”
Scoop!
…another clue to the baby’s sex could be provided by the Duke’s job flying helicopters
Scoop!
Ms Miller [an expert] said the royal baby was also likely to be tall, based on anecdotal evidence.
So says Gordon Rayner, the Telegraph’s chief reporter.
Can he be outdone? It won’t be easy. But here’s Caroline Davies in the Guardian:
Moving house with a newborn, as many a parent knows, is not ideal, but it could be the prospect facing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The couple are due to take up residence in a refurbished Apartment 1a at Kensington Palace next summer – around the same time the duchess is expecting to produce a future king or queen.
They really are like the rest of us. As the Mail’s Christophe Wilson notes:
Kate and William’s baby will be the first truly classless sovereign Britain has had in more than a thousand years of monarchy.
While the child will be able to count most kings and queens in the nation’s history among its forebears, delightfully lurking in the family tree there’ll also be a working-class ancestor for every blueblood. It makes, in this new egalitarian age, William’s choice of bride all the more brilliant…
Brilliant!
