Why Beyonce mimed at Obama’s inauguration
WHY did Beyonce Knowles mime America’s national anthem at President Obama’s second inauguration do? The director of the Marine Corps Band, Colonel Michael Colburn, (aka Press 8 on your telephone keypad) says:
“She’s getting ready for the Super Bowl, so we didn’t have a chance to do anything with her until the night, so it’s a very tight window of opportunity.”
She didn’t sing because she’s saving her voice for the Super Bowl. Expect to hear that excuse trotted by England footballers caught giving less than full-throat to the National Anthem – “I didn’t sing ‘cos I’m saving myself my kid’s birthday party” – and politicians explaining that their failure to belt it out is down to a patriot desire to cheer on the lads with cries of “You’re **** and you know you are” and “Shall we sing a song for you..?“
