ZIMBABWE, formerly Rhodesia, was once ruled by a foreign-born white elite. After independence from Britain, President Robert Mugabe moved to grab the land from white farmers, some of whom had been there for generations. There was more bloodshed. These photos tell some of the story:

A burnt out truck in front of the burnt homestead, 80 kilometers, (50miles) north of Zimbabwe's western province capital Bulawayo, of slain cattle rancher Martin Olds. Olds was the second farmer slain by squatters who have been taking over white-owned tracts of land.
