Oscar Pistorius murder trial: Reeva Steenkamp’s death is a comic strip
OSCAR Pistorius murder trial: South Africa’s City Press has turned the death of Reeva Steenkamp into a comic strip. Those Taiwanese CGI wizards have competition:
More episodes to come, starring:
Kevin Lerena, a boxer, who tells Beeld newspaper aof an incident in an eatery:
“Oscar just wanted to look at the gun, and it sort of snagged on his pants, releasing the safety catch. A shot went off. I got a huge fright, because the bullet hit the ground just centimetres from my foot.”
Ampie Louw, his coach:“I pray that we can all, in time, come through this challenging situation following the accident and I am looking forward to the day I can get my boy back on the track.”
Simon Barnes in the Times:
The ancient advice is never to meet your heroes, lest the sight of them as human beings like you and me were too shattering. This truth is called into force a thousand times more powerfully than ever before with Pistorius. We are content with the aspects of personality revealed so vividly in sporting action. It can be profoundly disturbing when other parts of the athlete are revealed. What we have to cleave to is that truth revealed in action does not become lie.
The Blade Runner remains a great truth.
Lots more 2D reporting to follow…
