Cheerleader Ashlee Arnau slams half-court forward flip shot to the envy of Harlem Globetrotter!
IF you’ve ever tried to play basketball, you’ll know how annoying it is trying to score any kind of basket at all, ever. Stand on the three-point line and watch as you continually hit the blasted hoop and scarcely hear the satisfying ‘fttt’ of the ball vanishing down the hole.
With that, imagine scoring from the halfway line. While doing a forward flip.
One cheerleader, by the name of Ashlee Arnau, has done just that, becoming a minor celebrity in the process. During a game at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Arnau performed her amazing acrobatic feat from half-court and, better yet, it was no fluke.
A member of basketball’s ultimate trick team, the Harlem Globetrotters, asks Ashlee to teach him how it was done. In a second video, Arnau nailed her shot leaving Firefly Fisher gamely trying to recreate it, but to no avail.
Fisher’s attempt saw the star doing a lame cartwheel, but still nailing a half-court shot. Of course, scoring from half-way isn’t to be sniffed at, but it is testament to Ashlee that her version can make all other shots look really pedestrian.
Arnau will have a third chance to make her shot this week when she appears at the half-time show of the Globetrotters game.
