Sex Shop thief caught red faced and red handed
“HE told me to let him out or he would stab me. I was with my girlfriend, in shock and a bit sleepy so I just thought it best to let him out. Then I saw he had two armfuls of gear on him. I told him I wasn’t opening the locked door unless he put it down. He dropped it at the door and then fled.”
So says Trent Broughton, son of the owner of the Erotic Nights store in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia.
“As he left he was apologising to me saying he only did it as a dare and would pay for the damage. I didn’t know what damage he was talking about and he said he had broken a shelf. Later I saw the side window he smashed his way through to break in. It was items from all over the store, so he had been shopping carefully for what he wanted.
“From the items he was trying to take, I’d say he is a really, really lonely man. I reckon he was a local and must have been in the store a few times before to know about the window and where things were. I’m thankful I walked in first instead of my girlfriend – I was shitting ducks at the time. Now it’s just a pisser. Anyone trying to steal that get-up must be desperate.”
