Shameless Mick Philpott teams up with Shameless Dave (Cameron) and Shameless Ed (Balls) to blame the system
MICK and Mairead Philpott’s killing of six children has been hijacked by vested interest groups.
George Osborne was asked if he thought State handouts sent to unemployed father-of-17 Mick Philpott might have contributed to his lifestyle. The Daily Mail had stated as much, leading with news that the Philpotts were the “vile product of Welfare UK“. Osborne replied that the crimes were horrendous and inexcusable. Adding:
“It’s right we ask questions as a Government, a society and as taxpayers why we are subsidising lifestyles like these. It does need to be handled.”
Shadow Chancellor, Ed Ballls, said – irony of ironies – that Osbourne’s opinion was the “cynical act of a desperate Chancellor”:
“A Chancellor has to think very carefully before they comment on the issues of the day. That is why I believe George Osborne’s calculated decision to use the shocking and vile crimes of Mick Philpott to advance a political argument is the cynical act of a desperate Chancellor. We should have a proper debate about welfare reform. And we should discuss what action needs to be taken to tackle the scourge of long-term unemployment.”
Prime Minister David Cameroan responded:
“I think what George Osborne said was absolutely right. He said that Mr Philpott was the one to blame for his crimes and he should be held responsible. But what the Chancellor went on to say is that we should ask some wider questions about our welfare system, how much it costs and the signals it sends. And we do want to make clear that welfare is there to help people who work hard and should not be there as a sort of life choice. I think that is entirely legitimate.”
Mick Philpott exploited his children. And so are the political classes. They are exploiting the deaths of six children for gain. Just as Michael Philpott pretended to faint when the cameras were on him and claimed his innocence as he dabbed his face with a hanky, the polticians are pretending to care.
For Shameless Mick, read Shameless Ed and Shameless Dave.
Did welfare kill six kids? Or does stopping welfare kill more? It’s a pathetic debate. Mick Philpott is a killer. So too are his wife Mairead and their friend Paul Mosley. The woman at the benefits office who rubber-stamped their child benefits books is not an accomplice.
All we know about the Philpotts’ crimes is that six innocent children died at the hands of a stupid woman and a violent, controlling man. But, then, he was a dad. And Dave and Ed are dads. Look out for one of them qualifying his faux care with “As a dad…’, that cynical shorthand for understanding. But not a dad like Mick Philpott, obviously…
