Photos of the Boston Marathon bomb suspects
THE Boston Marathon: the FBI has released these images of men they want to talk to in connection with the crime. As everyone with a vested interest lined up the usual suspects, there was one thing we all felt to be true: the perpetrators are most likely to be men.
Is the man in the above photograph smiling?
FBI Special Agent Rick DesLauriers:
“They appear to be associated. Suspect One is wearing a dark hat, Suspect Two is wearing a white hat. Suspect Two set down a backpack at the site of the second explosion, just in front of the Forum restaurant.
We strongly encourage those who were at the Forum Restaurant who have not contacted us yet to do so.”
He added:
“These images should be the only ones — and I emphasize the only ones — that the public should view to assist us.”
Was that a dig at the internet, where members of sites like 4Chan and Reddit have been looking over photos of the bombing and posting pictures of persons of interest?
“Other photos should not be deemed credible, and they unnecessarily divert the public’s attention in the wrong direction and create undue work for vital law enforcement resources.”
