Edgar F. Allen, of Louisville, Ky., left, commander of the American Legion in Italy, reads a citation in Italy on Nov. 10, 1960 which was presented to Hollywood actor Rock Hudson by the legion. Rock Hudson stands right, and wears the cap of the legion, as he at the same time was enrolled into the Rome department of it, by virtue of his service in the United States Navy. The citation reads: “This citation is presented to Mr. Rock Hudson, as an outstanding American in his field of endeavor, for his contributions to the development of good Italo-American relations and for his assistance in the furtherance of the activities of the Rome Post of the American Legion in its work with the “People To People” program.” Rock received a new film, “Come September”, presently being shot in Rome, and in which he is starring together with Italy’s Gina Lollobrigida, Sandra Dee and Bobby Darren.
