After Leveson and hacking the Sun supports Prism and the Big Brother State
WHAT did the Sun have to say about Prism, the pact between technology companies and the US and UK Governments to store data on all internet users?
“They’re not remotely interested in the millions of ordinary citizens leading law-abiding lives.”
It’s not hacking. It’s harvesting. The Sun added:
“This ‘Big Brother’ nightmare is a hysterical fantasy hyped mainly by the Left.”
But what did the Sun have to say about news that Government should regulate the Press?

Today, while you may be watching Big Brother on TV, Big Brother is CERTAINLY watching you.
In the novel, the ruling party’s Thought Police keep track of everyone’s every move via telescreens.
Orwell wrote of the sinister device installed in hero Winston Smith’s flat: “Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it — moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well.”
Today in the UK, there is approximately one CCTV camera for every 32 citizens, with 1.85million cameras trained upon us day and night.
These cameras are now so powerful they can zoom in close enough to read a text on your mobile phone.Meanwhile, Google can collate information to profile its users according to their web searches.
The Sun also noted in a piece about “Privacy War“:
“IF you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face, forever”. George Orwell wrote this in his book Nineteen Eighty-Four — whose message is as relevant today as it was when he wrote it in 1949.
And:
So. Don’t worry about being watched. It’s not as if the watchers sell off the data on you…
