Arsenal buy £50m Gonzalo Higuain for £25.5m with a bid of just £22m
ARSENAL transfer news: more expert views on Gonzalo Higuain in the media:
Is Gonzalo Higuain leaving Real Madrid for Arsenal? Having previously reported that the deal was done and dusted, some voices in the media should consider the words of the player’s agent and father, the one and same Jorge Higuain. He tells La Gazzetta dello Sport:
“Real Madrid will decide. There is still no signature, but I can assure you that agreements with both Arsenal and Juventus are very advanced.”
The Daily Express reports:
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid for £22m
But the Metro says Arsenal will need to bid £25.5million.
The Sun notes:
The Gunners are ready to pay a club-record £22million for the Argentine, who is also wanted by Juventus.
And Radio Cadena YSKL, says, “the two clubs have agreed terms over Higuain and he will have a medical at Arsenal’s training ground in London Colney on Monday, before potentially being unveiled on Tuesday or Wednesday.”
The player wants to leave Real, but the club’s vain President has news. It’s verbose Florentino Perez:
“With £25.5m it’s better that they don’t come. Let’s see if people ask us for £50 million for everyone and we sell one of ours for half that.”
Maybe that’s a cue for Real to nurture more homegrown talent instead of trying to tap up other clubs stars?
