Transfer Balls: Liverpool will talk about Luis Suarez for 11 more days
TRANSFER Balls: Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers does love to talk. And the more he talks the more he seems to tie himself in knots. Mostly, Rogers has been talking about Luis Suarez, the player who is now definitely not heading to Arsenal.
That would be the same Suarez of whom the BBC reported on August 7:
Suarez, 26, plans to submit a transfer request this week if a move to Arsenal is blocked.
Says Brendan on August 15:
“I won’t be speaking any more on Luis.”
And on August 22:
“It’s very difficult at this time [for a Suarez bid to succeed]. We are trying to get one or two more quality players in through the door. If we lose Luis at this stage, it would be difficult to replace him. There might have been a point a few months ago when there was time to do it, but not with only 11 days to go.”
At least he’s stopped speaking about Suarez…
