Transfer Balls: Manchester United pay £2m over the odds for Everton’s Marouane Fellaini
TRANSFER Balls: Is Marouane Fellaini heading to Manchester United from Everton?
The Sunday Times says United will get their man for £25m.
The Mirror has other news:
July 13: “The Belgian’s £23.5million buy-out clause expires on August 14 with the Toffees set to demand more than £30million for him after”
August 19: “Everton reject “derisory and insulting” £28million bid from Man United for Marouane Fellaini AND Leighton Baines”
August 25: “Manchester United to focus on Marouane Fellaini if double bid with Baines fails – United boss David Moyes will offer £35m for Toffees pair but focus on Belgian midfielder if he’s knocked back”
August 29: “Manchester United raise transfer offer for Everton’s Fellaini and Baines to £38m – New bid adds £8m to joint valuation of the midfielder and left-back as rival interest in Wigan’s McCarthy puts pressure on Martinez”
They offered £28m. Then added on £8m to make, erm, £38m.
Such is the maths…
