West Ham United’s Andy Carroll has a mental issue with his heel
ANDY Carroll adds to West Ham United’s £15m summer signing is injured. He could be out of action for four months. The Telegraph says there are “fears Andy Carroll may not play again this year”. Carroll has not played since picking up a heel injury in the final game of last season.
Poor fella.
So. How does the Sun cover Carroll’s travails? They call him a choker?
The Urban Dictionary defines choker thus:
Someone who blows a seemingly insurmountable lead in any competitive endevour. A person or team that suffers a nervous collapse caused by pressure of winning.
It’s a mental illness in his heel. Maybe his brain really are in his feet..?
Update: Yes, the word choker might well refer to the fans’ reaction to the injury; but the Sun has labelled Carroll a “flop”.
