The world’s longest chip is not a cheating French Fry
IS this the world’s longest chip? The 28-inch mega-fry was found by Tuscaloosa resident Gary Young with his Arby’s beef and cheddar meal. He said:
“I was shocked. That’s like the biggest fry I’ve ever seen. I thought it was a snake.”
He’s not yet tasted it, so it might be. For now it’s stored in a Ziploc bag in his refrigerator.
But is it a long chip or just an artfully cut one? Anyone can make a long French Fry. All you need is patience and a steady hand. This one in Buffalo, US, was 3-ft long:
But this was bigger:
In July this year, readers of the Gloucestershire Echo were asked: “Is this the biggest chip in Gloucestershire?”
The question was designed to trigger a local news debate, with readers sending in photos of their own long chips.
Maybe you just need a big potato to make a big Great British chip?
