Spurs Balls: Redknapp Is Confused Over Soldado And Doesn’t Read His Own Newspaper
COMPARE and contrast: Jamie Redknapp on Spurs’s new recruits:
JAMIE Redknapp in the Daily Mail: “Who chose the targets for the Bale money to be spent on? Roberto Soldado is another Jermain Defoe, Etienne Capoue is another Sandro, and do you need Lamela when you have Andros Townsend? Was it Andre Villas-Boas or was it director of football Franco Baldini?” – November 25, 2013
Maybe Jamie should read his own paper:
Declan Warrington: “Manager Andre Villas-Boas views the clinical Spain international as the candidate to end his long-term search for a truly quality goalscorer… Villas-Boas and chairman Daniel Levy are determined to show their ambition by securing the signings that would help them to dismiss interest in Gareth Bale and to finally break into the league’s top four” – July 22, 2013
Here’s what else Redknapp said about Spurs’ striker: On August 15 he opined: “I’m going for Soldado as their key man. He’s 28 years of age and not a typical Daniel Levy signing…”
Redknapp spoke in glorious tones about Daniel Levy, the Spurs Chairman: “He has got (Roberto) Soldado in early, he’s buying Etienne Capoue, who is a very good player.”
Now, of course, Capoue is just another Sandro.
Funny how big defeat to Manchester City can change your expert opinion…
