16 Wonderful Bootleg Video Posters From Ghana

IN the 1980s, Ghana’s video renters hired artists to create posters for all the latest films. Predictably, these posters were fabulous. Free from Hollywood’s global marketing departments, the posters could reflect local tastes.
One artist, Jeaurs Oka Afutu, tells us: “Action and war works a lot … and women too: both actually. It all depends on what the audience prefers.”
Those of you who saw the original movies might want to see the ones these posters portray.
