OH, the romantics in Gay Paris. You can see them on the Pont des Arts footbridge writing their names on padlocks and securing them it to the bridge.
But not more says one American in Paris, a woman called – and get his for nominative determinism –  Lisa Huff. She says the locks are ugly and need to go. They are “desecrating” the bridges, which in the language of La Huff, are godly shrines. She has instigated the No Love Locks campaign to ban them.

In the NPR’s reports, we’re told:
City officials, she says, have taken a laissez-faire attitude because they don’t want to dampen Paris’ romantic reputation. Huff hopes her petition, which has already garnered thousands of signatures, will force the city to consider banning the locks.
