Transfer Balls: Sevilla Want £16.2m For Albero Moreno But Liverpool Want To Pay More
TRANSFER Balls: A look at Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno in the trusty mainstream Press.
On June 10, 2014, the Mirror announces that Liverpool have not signed Moreno:
Alberto Moreno – Liverpool transfer stalls as Brendan Rodgers refuses to meet Sevilla’s £18m asking price
At the same time, the Mail reports:
Liverpool close to sealing Alberto Moreno deal as Sevilla left-back jets to England after clubs agree £16.2m fee
A few days earlier on June 4, the Mail had reported that Spurs wanted the player:
Tottenham to offer £14m for Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno with Roberto Soldado on loan as part of deal
A day later, the Star said that was balls:
It had been thought Spurs were mounting a last minute challenge to try and pip the Reds to the left back’s signature. But it appears that assault never came and Brendan Rodgers has free rein to snap up the £14m rated player…
No. It hadn’t been “thought”. It has been stated very clearly in the Mail:
Tottenham have hijacked Liverpool’s move for Sevilla left back Alberto Moreno by tabling a £14million offer plus Roberto Soldado on loan and including midfielder Etienne Capoue.
Confused? Get ready to be because on June 5, the Mirror wrote:
Liverpool ‘agree five-year deal with Alberto Moreno as Sevilla accept £17.9m offer’
Someone tell Brendan Rodgers that he’s already signed the £14m-rated player for £16.2m and £17.9m but not for £18m. That move has stalled.
More Transfer Balls every day…
