‘Dying’ Morrissey, The Sickliest Musician In The World, Cancels Tour
\IF you work in the music industry, or know someone who works in the biz, you’ll inevitably have hundreds of anecdotes about Morrissey’s behaviour, all them which will result in some kind of libel from the longest face in music.
However, it seems that Moz doesn’t mind making accusations about other people at all, which he did while cancelling all his dates on his American tour.
Morrissey postponed dates in Atlanta, Baltimore and Washington, but how now sacked off the rest of his schedule because he’s a bit poorly.
On his Facebook page, it explained that he was suffering from a ‘respiratory infection’ which he caught in Miami. Apparently, he’s now worse.
“It is with great sadness that the remainder of the US Tour has been cancelled. The respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami has worsened, and in the interest of making a full recovery, all further touring plans have been halted. Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates.”
Some of those well-wishes included:
“He needs to do shorter tours, he seems to be ill all the time. I think everyone knew he wasn’t going to make it to the end of the tour. Completely pointless. Why doesn’t he just do one off gigs instead of touring. If you still buy tickets for a Morrissey show, I have no sympathy for you. There is nothing shocking in this announcement.”

As ever, Morrissey got in touch with fansite True To You and they said:
“Difficulties had arisen on May 31st following Kristeen Young’s opening set at the Miami Knight Concert Hall, after which Kristeen confessed to “a horrendous cold”, the symptoms of which were passed on to Morrissey, which resulted in the cancellation of the next show in Atlanta.”
It doesn’t end there.
Kristeen Young has hit out against the claims, saying in a Facebook post: “I did not ‘confess to a horrendous cold’. On Monday, June 2nd, I had an allergy attack that was over within 16 hours. I went to a doctor (on Monday, June 2nd), an allergy specialist, who gave me drugs for allergies…and they worked. I explained this (early on Tuesday, June 3rd) and offered this doctor’s phone number to Morrissey personally, via email, and the tour manager.”
She added: “I am very sorry that Morrissey is not feeling well. But I will not tolerate these lies….particularly about my health. This is really too much and bizarre.”
So there you have it. Smiths fans and Morrissey devotees are outpouring with sympathy and get well messages that he’ll never read on Facebook and a load of his fans have started bullying Kristeen Young, which is nice.
