Manchester United Balls: Van Gaal Ignores 14-Times Man Of The Match Alexander Buttner
MANCHESTER United’s Alexander Buttner is leaving the club? He explains why:
The 25-year-old told De Telegraaf: “Van Gaal never gave me the chance in the Dutch national team, despite being voted man of the match 14 times at Manchester United. Apparently, he is not very confident about me. So I think this is the right moment to leave.”
According to Soccerbase, Buttner has made 23 appearances for United since joining them in August 2012 – five as a substitute. Can it be that in 14 of those games, he was the best player not only for United but on the pitch? Last season, he featured 15 times for the Red Devils, ending up on the losing side three times.
Anyone want to check in how many game Buttner was better than the entire opposition and Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie and David de Gea, the latter being voted the MUFC’s player of the year for last season?
Was something lost in translation?
