Bannockburn 2014 Photos: Reliving The Bloody Battle For Scotland’s Independence

SEVEN hundred years ago, Robert The Bruce’s army defeated the forces of Edward II of England at Bannockburn.
Edward had marched noth to end the serige of Stirling castle, the last English stronghold in Scotland . On 23 and 24 June, 1314, the two sides met.
Today, the Clanranald Trust have been re-enacting the fighting in Bannockburn for an event called Bannockburn Live.
