Transfer Balls: Liverpool Sell Suarez For £75.5m And Still Want Sanchez In Part-Exchange
TRANSFER Balls: a look at the media rpeorting on Alexis Sanchez, the Barcelaona player wanted by Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United (among others). Today the Sunday People (prop. Trinity Mirror) notes:
Liverpool are refusing to give up the chase for Alexis Sanchez – with manager Brendan Rodgers on standby to meet the Barcelona striker. Rodgers believes he could at least persuade the 25-year-old to consider joining the Reds – if he got the chance to talk to him.
Believes. Could. Consider.
Of course, one aim of Transfer Balls is to see how newspapers can cover all angles. So. As Rodgers as looking to persuade the Chilean Sanchez to come to Liverpool as part of the deal that takes Luis Suarez in the opposite direction, the Sunday Mirror (prop. Trinity Mirror) reports:
Liverpool will bank a staggering £75.5million from Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona. Anfield chief executive Ian Ayre has struck a deal that will see Barca pay the full terms of the buy-out clause in the striker’s contract.
Both stories – one saying the deal is done the other saying it isn’t – can be read in full on the Daily Mirror’s website.
What utter balls…
