Transfer Balls: Liverpool Keep Raheem Sterling From Real Madrid, Who Don’t Want Him
TRANSFER Balls: Is Raheem Sterling leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid?
On June 28, the Mirror reported:
Real Madrid are preparing a raid on Liverpool for Raheem Sterling.
On September 23, the Mirror said that Sterling’s move to Real Madrid was a dead certainty:
Be afraid, Liverpool fans. Real Madrid are after Raheem Sterling and they ALWAYS get their man
On the same day, the Mirror added:
The Spanish giants’ coach Carlo Ancelotti has put the Liverpool star on top of his hit-list after his stunning form for club and country.
The story of Sterling to Madrid is been pushed by a news-hungry media. When Gareth Bale told the Independent, Bale said:
“I think the most important thing is you feel it’s the right move… If you look at Raheem Sterling, I think he’s shown what a good player he is. He’s starting to perform more consistently. If he keeps working hard and doing what he’s doing then he’s going to keep progressing and the sky is his limit.”
In the Express that became:
“Bale has urged Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling to join him at Liverpool”
Which he didn’t.
And so today’s news.
The Sun reprots that Real Madrid are not after Sterling:
Ancelotti said: “Sterling is a player of great quality, certainly one of the best in Europe. But we already have extraordinary talent here. Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are still young. And we have a talent here called Jese who is even younger…. It’s clear that Sterling is not in our plans.”
Such are the facts…
