Transfer Balls: Arsenal Bid For Morgan Schneiderlin Who Wants To Stay At Southampton Or Play For Spurs
TRANSFER Balls: a look at the utter bilge presented as rumour and fact by the mainstream media. Today the Daily Express tells readers that Arsenal are “ready to revive their interest in Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin in January”.
Arsenal never did bid for the Frenchman.
The Express adds:
Arsene Wenger has money to spend and could bid £25m for the French midfielder after missing out over the summer.
He could. It’s just that four days earlier the Express reported that he, er, counldn’t.
ARSENE WENGER is poised to be handed a £20million transfer kitty in January to fund Arsenal’s title push.
So. According to the Express, Wenger could bid £25m but has £20m to spend.
And what of Schneiderlin?
Well, the Express says:
…a defender is thought to be high on Wenger’s list of priorities, and Sami Khedira is on their radar
Schneiderlin plays in the midfield.
And as for the player who was not allowed to leave The Saints for his preferred choice of Spurs, he says:
“I tried enjoying my football again and I was made to play against Liverpool on the opening day. At Anfield all the Southampton fans applauded me and chanted my name. That warmed my heart. I knew then that I would spend the season here.”
Such are the facts in the Daily Express...
