‘Man Tries To Have Sex With Post Box’ Is Nothing Safe?

The Wigan Post has news of a man who “tried” to have sex with a Post Box.
Two thoughts, well three:
1. He tried to shag an inanimate box with a hole in it? And failed!
2. Did he wear a, er, Jiffy envelope / French letter?
3. Is nothing safe?
